Records six tackles

Abu Taha recorded one corner and one chance created in Monday's 2-1 defeat to Algeria.

Analysis: Abu Taha delivered the outstanding defensive performance of Monday's 1-2 defeat to Algeria, winning two tackles and registering two interceptions across his 85 minutes as the left wingback in Jordan's 3-4-3, with his six successful tackles the most of any player on the pitch from either side. His defensive intensity, ability to win duels consistently and intelligent wide positioning make him one of the most reliable defensive wide options in Jordan's squad, and his performances across two group games demonstrated he is capable of competing at the highest level even against Algeria's quality attacking unit.

Creative effort in loss

Mohannad Abu Taha generated five crosses (three accurate) and one corner in Wednesday's 3-1 defeat to Austria.

Analysis: Taha had himself a decent game, contributing defensively with a tackle and two clearances while also attempting to create going forward, including creating one chance from left midfield. Jordan's defense struggled as a whole in this match after conceding three goals, but Taha was not heavily at fault and his attacking upside remains promising despite defensive success being difficult to find in this setup. His next match will be against Algeria, who are expected to be the stronger side despite losing 3-0 to defending champion Argentina in their opener, making it another difficult matchup.
